Groton Area Elementary School Daily Announcements for 10-22-09
May I have your attention please for the daily announcements. This is Jack McKiver.
Good morning. Today is Thursday, October 22nd, 2009. This is the 41st day of school.
We are taking orders for short and long-sleeve t-shirts and sweatshirts with Tiffany Lerew’s winning design on it. Please get your orders in as soon as possible.
A note from Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Groton: there will be no Sunday school this Sunday, October 25. Worship, yes. Sunday School, no. Thank you from Pastor Elizabeth!
October is homework month. Each day, two names will be drawn, and if their homework is done they win a prize. The winners for Wednesday, October 21st will be announced by Mrs. Rock.
Staff: There are order forms for Holiday Wreaths in the lounge for anyone interested.
There will be a carnival, soup and supper by the Jills & Jeans 4H group at the Andover Legion Hall on Sunday, October 25th from 5-7:30. Come join the fun. They will also be collecting canned goods for the local food pantry if you would like to contribute.
The Box Tops for Education’s first collection is coming up. Have you been collecting boxtops? Last year we were 4th in our area behind Northwestern, CC Lee, and Warner Elementary Schools. Warner beat us by only 30 boxtops. Please have all boxtops in by October 30. The class with the most boxtops will get to choose the morning announcement music for a whole week!
Taming the Snack Monster starts this Friday. Bring your fruit or veggie with you and enjoy it later in the afternoon before leaving school! We will continue this throughout the year every Friday or the last schoolday of the week. Stay Healthy and eat right!!
The Ellison Die Cut catalog is now in the teacher’s lounge. Please put down your suggestions for any wanted Die Cuts.
Staff: There is a variety of Groton Apparel that you can look at and place orders for in the teacher’s lounge.
Staff: If you are on the schedule for October newsletters, please have them e-mailed to Mr. Dalchow by 10 AM today.
There will be a Wolf Cub Cheer Camp on October 24th at the NSU Barnett Center from 1-3 PM. You will then get to cheer with the NSU cheerleaders at halftime of the NSU vs. MSU – Moorhead football game. More information and registration sheets are in the front lobby.
If you come to the home football game tonight, please come to watch the game. Students wrestling, playing football, or other rough housing type activities will be sitting in the time out bleacher section with Mr. Dalchow.
Students, please wash your hands frequently, cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze and avoid touching your mouth, nose, or eyes. We want you all to stay healthy!
