May I have your attention please for the daily announcements.  This is Isaac _____________________ 2^nd grade.

Good morning, today is Thursday, May 5^th  , 2011

Alan Shepard made history on this day in 1961.  He went higher than any American had ever gone.  Do you know what he did for 15 minutes that no other American had done yet?  The answer is on the bottom of the announcements that can be seen on the Tiger Talk Blog.

There will be a youth football camp for grades 4^th through 8^th  at Northern  State on May 24^th  and 25^th.  Registration sheets are in the front entryway for anyone interested.

The spring elementary dance for grades 4-6 will be this coming Friday after school.  Check out the posters the student council made that are hanging up around school. Good music, and fabulous prizes will be happening in the  Elementary Gym Friday at 3:30.   Admission is 3 dollars.  Don’t miss it!

Elementary health fair and track and field day will be on Friday, May 13^th. 

Lunch for today:  pizza, rice, green bean,  ice cream, fruit, and milk

Breakfast for tomorrow:  jumpstart breakfast

Good morning, today is Wednesday, May 4^th  , 2011

Kevin Slowey has a birthday today.  He is a professional baseball player.  His teammate, Francisco Liriano pitched a no-hitter for their team last night.  Do you know what baseball team they play for?  The answer is on the bottom of the announcements that can be seen on the Tiger Talk Blog.

Good morning, today is Monday, May 2^nd  , 2011

Elijah McCoy would have had a birthday today.  He was one of the first black inventors from Canada and is where the saying, “That is the real McCoy”  came from.  What do you think this saying means?  The answer is on the bottom of the announcements that can be seen on the Tiger Talk Blog.

Congratulations to the Math Problem of the week winners.  In 3^rd grade the winner was Jameson Stange and in 4^th grade the winner was Caroline Graf.

AR points are being tabulated and the official results will be posted in the next couple of days.

The spring elementary dance for grades 4-6 will be this coming Friday after school.  Good music, and fabulous prizes will be happening in the  Elementary Gym Friday at 3:30.   Admission is 3 dollars.  Don’t miss it!

Here are the results from the poptab collection we had on Friday:  In 3^rd place, with 17.5  pounds of poptabs collected, is 5^th grade.  In 2^nd place, with 24.2 pounds of poptabs collected, is 1^st grade.  AND in first place, with 48.5 pounds collected, or sixty one thousand four hundred forty nine poptabs, the winner of the spring poptab collection is the Kindergarten class.  The winning grade has treats in the freezer which the teachers can hand out at lunch sometime this week.
