Thank you to the incredible staff for making a difficult transition a fun new adventure for all of our children. You are to be commended for your tireless work over the weekend.
Dee the school shines brightly because of you and Don!
Deb you are incredible to be juggling 45 hats! Your hats and hearts are all in the right place staff!

-keep the routines
-minimize personnel absences; kids need familiar faces in the unfamiliar place
-help kids with bus safety/behavior
-help kids with sharing
-mininize the mess; try to find ways for kids to take less STUFF to and from school
-I know this goes counter to the above, but maybe have special days--soup days, stuffed animal days, favorite story days, hot chocolate days etc.
-get volunteer LISTENERS for every class (maybe Carroll students or Federal Reserve folks?)
-use the cramped space to launch problem-solving and design activities--"Suppose this were a space station/desert island/explorers'camp . . ." etc.
-have classes take a walk and explore the neighborhood; maybe attach a GPS/mapping activity
-check into INRIS/State Library including Hawthorne in the November 17 GIS day activity

AGAIN, THANKS TO THE ENTIRE SCHOOL STAFF FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND EXTRA EFFORT TO MAKE THIS TRANSITION. THE RAY BJORK PLAYGROUND WAS RINGING TODAY WITH THE SOUNDS OF BUSY, HAPPY CHILDREN. I'M SO IMPRESSED BY WHAT YOU'VE "PULLED OFF" IN SO LITTLE TIME. THANK YOU.
