Progress Reports and PSSA Scores

Progress reports and PSSA reports were sent home today with your student.  The PSSA scores represent your child's performance on the 2011 test held last spring.  Progress reports are a reflection of grades since the start of this year.  Please remember that not every class may have reported a grade due to limited meeting times. Art would be an example.

Please review the progress report with your child and I encourage you to contact the teachers if you have any questions.

Thank You

We have finished our first complete 6 day cycle for the 2011-12 school year. Believe it or not this is a milestone. Specifically we have finished our entire schedule and students now will be settling into the 6 day routine with tomorrow (9/12/11) being the next "A" day.  Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as the students settle into our routines, especially at bus dismissal time. The bus drivers have done a great job at trying to get into the same spots and the students have done an even better job of finding their bus. The lone exception was Friday but due to the road conditions that is understandable. Even then we were able to dismiss within 15 minutes.  History has shown that this time will greatly decrease and students will be on their way home shortly after dismissal.

Thanks again for a great first cycle.

PSSA Update

We have completed our first phase of PSSA testing.  Math and Reading were finished last week and we are in the process of having students who were absent make up the assessment.  This week we started the PSSA Writing for our 5th grade students only.  These will continue through Thursday.  The following week will consist of PSSA Science for our 4th grade students.

Thanks for all of your cooperation and patience as we work through this month of testing.
