Goodbye......for Now

It is truly a bittersweet feeling with which I say goodbye to my Hanover Street families!  While I am energized and excited to be taking on my new role as principal of Hanover Middle School, I will certainly miss our beautiful new building, and more importantly, our fantastic students, parents, and staff!  I am reminded that I will be reunited with former HSE Nighthawks at the Middle School, and will be looking forward to our current Hanover Street students coming to the Middle School over the next few years.  My past six years at HSE have been wonderful, and Hanover Street will always hold a special place in my heart.  I know that HSE is in good hands as Dr. Krout and Mr. Czap supervise all three of our elementary buildings, with the added support of "lead" teachers at each building.  Thanks again for everything, and I will look forward to seeing you soon!

Target Supports Hanover Street Elem

On Wednesday, July 25, 2012, Hanover Street Elementary will receive $500 from the Hanover Branch Target Department Store.  This money will go to toward the effort of promoting the life-ling love of reading.  Thank you, Target for helping our students become exceptional readers!

Full-Day Kindergarten

Starting this year, Hanover Public School District is offering Full-Day Kindergarten to ALL students!  This is a tremendous accomplishment for our district, our families, and our students.  "Your Public Schools:  the best preparation for tomorrow." :)  Please see the attachment for more information.

Summer Hours

This summer, the HSE office will be open from 8:00AM - 3:00PM, Monday through Thursday.  We are closed on Fridays.  Our building secretary, Ms. Martz, will be working on July 11 & 25.  We'll be looking forwadr to seeing everyone at our Back-to School-Night on August 27 and the First Day of School on August 28!

The Gift of Song

Recently our elementary district chorus performed at Hanover Hall Retirement Home.  Our students were met with big smiles and rousing applause as they performed a variety of musical numbers.  Our elementary students proudly represented Hanover Public School District, as they learned the satisfaction one gets from helping others!

We will miss you 4th Grade!

We will soon say good bye to our 4th grade students as they look ahead to summer and their journey to the middle school for the 2012-2013 school year.  We are very proud of you and remember that you will always be a part of Hanover Street Elementary.

Did you know, MedExpress Urgent Care is located on Baltimore Street, next to Wendy's?  They are open from 9 AM to 9 PM, 7 days a week.  You may simply walk-in, no appointments needed, and visits usually last less than an hour.  If you have questions, you may contact them at www.medexpress.com or call them at 633-3647.

Book Fair Luau!

 Our Spring Book Fair is coming to Hanover Street Elementary.  We will be having an evening preview night on Thursday, May 24 and students will be able to shop during the day on May 30 and 31.  Be prepared for Summer by stocking up on some good books to read!  More information will be coming home soon!
