It is with mixed emotions both personally and professionally that I announce that I accepted the offer to serve as the Indianola High School Principal next year. With great respect and thankfulness to the Hampton community and Hampton-Dumont High School students and staff I write the following resignation letter...
Dear H.S. Staff, Todd, Community, and H-D School Board,
I am truly grateful for the time I have had over the last four years to serve Hampton-Dumont High School and it stakeholders. While serving as the high school principal I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best educators I have ever seen. Without a solid superintendent and great teaching staff it would not have been possible to get some of the initiatives off the ground that we have. These include Project Lead The Way Courses, a new alternative program, and the 1:1 laptop initiative. I am confident I have left Hampton-Dumont High School with more opportunities for students than were available prior to my leadership.
I have recently accepted the opportunity to serve as the Indianola High School principal in Indianola, IA. Taking on this new position is a positive move for my family and I. We will be closer to family and moving to a community with more opportunities. I have always acted in the best interest of students. With the decision to move I am acting in the best interested of my family.
Please consider this my resignation as the Hampton-Dumont High School principal. I will do my best to leave everything in good order prior to the end of my contract. I want to thank you again for the opportunity to serve this school and community.
Sincerely,
Trent Grundmeyer
Trent,
Congratulations, great move for you and your family. Keep in touch.
Jeff
