Today was a fun day! I was able to spend time with two "Principals for a Day". Principal Evan and Principal Jason shadowed me throughout the day and we had a great time!
They received this opportunity becuase they were winners in our PTA's Silent Auction held last week. Gift baskets and other fantastic prizes were auctioned off - including the opportunity to be the Principal for the Day. I'm also excited to have a date lined up with another student, Principal Michael, for the fall.
We spent our day doing what principals do...making the morning announcements, handing out birthday pencils, meeting with teachers, making the rounds throughout the building, taking phone calls, attending appointments outside the building, with even a few surprises added in throughout the day.
The boys had the chance to call home and report that they were in the principal's office (because it was their office...)
And we also set aside some time to get quality work done...every principal likes their students to keep up with their classwork. Overall - we had a great time! Thanks to the PTA for making it happen.
I think it is great that you blog. I am a teacher in Cicero. I blog myself - I teach art online and locally. I am a 6th grade teacher during the school year.
