Well, today I returned from the NAESP Conference. It was an incredible experience. I had the opportunity to interact with talented principals from across the country and learn some of the valuable lessons they had to share. I am excited to bring these ideas back to Owen and to share them with students, staff and parents as I try to continue my own professional development. On the lengthy flight to and from Seattle, I had time to read Todd Whitaker's What Great Principals Do Differently and Robert Marzano's School Leadership that Works. While at the convention, I attended a session by Peter Hall. His ideas about differentiated supervision are going to help me grow as an administrator. I was so impressed with his ideas, I read his book on the way home. I look forward to using my experiences to continue helping Owen Elementary students and staff reach their maximum potential.
