Hmmm. I have family who teach in Wash DC public schools. All black administrators...black super...black teachers...majority black students. The few 'minority' kids (white and asian) do better???? You need more sources for your ideas than Singleton's book. Expand your research.

Dave -- I enjoyed the reflection. Same issues here in New Jersey. My guess is that it is the same issue in Washington, DC, as well. The issue is not the sense of minority in terms of numbers. The issue is the cultural/experiential differences and how the school experiences "fits" with that background.

I wrote the name of the book down and will check it out. Thanks for sharing. It is critical reflection that your district is undertaking with this effort.
