Great post. We need to build awareness amongst administrators about the need to integrate technology tools into our curriculum. In my experience I also find that there are many teachers that are in the same boat. They fail to recognize the value of the ways in which technology has removed so many barriers to authentic learning experiences. We need to start advocating for more technology integration outside of this medium. We are preaching to the choir here! My fellow administrators who are in the dark are not reading this. We must have school improvement where educators identify the essential skills for students then work to show our colleagues how technology will allow our students to gain a deeper understanding of concepts and skills more efficiently using technology!

Thanks Michael. I agree - today I met with a principal who wants to focus on Excel next year with his faculty. I tried to argue for using Google Spreadsheets instead and got a blank stare. Lots of work to do still.
