Thanks for bringing these two groups to my attention and for the excellent summary of their views. I agree with parts of the platforms of each group. I am still not convinced that charter schools do anything but divert money from public schools, but the other ideas from the Education Equality Project are laudable and should be pursued. As far as the Broader Bolder Approach ideas, I especially like the focus on early childhood education and providing health care for students through schools. They can't learn if they are sick.

The only thing I didn't see in these excerpts that I still want to see is including more art, music, PE, foreign language, and career technical education for all students. Yes, we need the basics, but those other classes are sometimes the one that truly inspire students to push themselves to their potential.
