At my school, we focus on 3 R's... Relationships, Risks, and Results. Our first goal is always building long lasting genuine collegial relationships. When you have a relationship with someone, they are willing to take a risk, make a change, think bigger. When you have both, relationships and risk takers, you will certainly achieve unprecedented results. Thanks for the post!

If #5 (making small talk) is the most difficult, I would worry. Trust me, principals who can't even make the simpliest small talk like responding "good morning" when passing people in the hallway, need to find a new job.
