The questions you are helping the district to ask are key because they drive at the heart of the purpose of what programs and curriculum are intended to do. Focus on the goal.

Also, those types of debates tend to miss the fact that it is the learning objectives or standards that are being taught, and program and curriculum are the tools. Not every tool will be the best for every standard or objective. Focus on great teaching and delivery, combined with what students need is key.

The focus on programs is like focusing on which tools to use to build a house instead of thinking about the design and needs of the people who will live in it.
